Observation of Light Propagation in Photonic Crystal Optical Waveguides with Bends

Abstract

We observed the light propagation in 2-D photonic crystal waveguides with bends, which were composed of densely-packed holes formed in a GaInAsP thin film. Wavelength and polarization dependence of propagation characteristics was observed at λ = 1.47 - 1.60μm.
