Mid-infrared silicon waveguide resonators with Q~4×105 by using Bragg grating cavities

Abstract

Silicon waveguide resonator with quality factor Q~4x105 is demonstrated at wavelength λ=3.655um. The resonator is composed of µm long silicon cavities and pairs of Bragg grating arrays and shows potential for use in integrated mid-infrared chemical sensing for lab-on-a-chip applications.
