Abstract

We report efficient polarization-insensitive four-wave mixing in a two-orthogonal-pump configuration with the assistance of backward Raman amplification. Due to Raman enhancement, conversion efficiency of ~0dB is obtained in a nonlinear fiber without stimulated-Brillouin-scattering suppression.
