Abstract

In straight single-ring hollow-core PCFs, dramatic higher-order-mode suppression occurs for a strict geometrical condition. Twisting permits this condition to be relaxed, reducing fabrication tolerances. The twisted fiber also exhibits weak circular birefringence.
