Novel Nanowire Cavity Using Cut-Off Mode Reflector

Abstract

Free-standing nanowire-cavities, having a low index contrast with their substrate, typically have low Q-factors because of the lack of reflective bottom mirrors. A novel method facilitating a high-reflection bottom mirror using cut-off mode is presented.
