Polarization Insensitive Electro-optic Probe

Abstract

A highly simple and polarization insensitive fiber-optic probe for electric field sensing is demonstrated. The polarization instability problem − often occurs due to the birefringence drift in lengthy optical fibers - is overcome for fiber-coupled optical sensors.
