Abstract

Light scattering in the visible wavelength range complicates the extraction of important information in tissue, due to unpolarized illumination of endoscope LED light. LC lenses are polarizer dependent devices, which can solve glaring issue of the reflected light from the tissue. In this paper, we investigate a method of anti-specular reflection using an advanced liquid crystal lens for 2D/3D switchable imaging. There are many other potential applications, both in tissue diagnostics and in treatment response monitoring.
