Photonics Research Feature Announcement

Terahertz Photonics: applications and techniques (invited only)

Submission Open: 20 November 2015

Submission Deadline: 31 January 2016

Photonics Research is organizing a special issue of research articles and reviews to discuss advancements in terahertz technology relating to both instrumentation and material characterization. Terahertz systems have come a long way since the first demonstration of terahertz generation using photonics. New methods to utilize and manipulate terahertz light are evolving which in turn facilitate improved material characterization and opportunities for new applications.

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • High-performance terahertz devices: sources, detectors, polarizers, lenses, waveguides, and other optoelectronic components
  • Terahertz spectroscopy and material characterization
  • Terahertz metamaterials
  • Terahertz imaging and applications

Manuscripts should be prepared according to the usual standards for submission to Photonics Research; see the OSA Style Guide. Manuscripts must also be uploaded through OSA's electronic submission system. Please specify that the manuscript is for the Terahertz Photonics: techniques and applications feature issue (choose from the feature issue drop-down menu). Manuscripts will undergo the same peer review as other papers submitted to the Journal. The standard Photonics Research article processing charges will apply.
