Abstract

This paper presents a theoretical study of soliton and solitonlike propagation regimes of broad-band terahertz pulses in nonlinear crystals. The standard approximation of slowly varying amplitudes for quasi-monochromatic signals is not used in this case. Solitonlike propagation regimes known in other areas of physics and those unknown earlier are analyzed. Solitons in media that contain tunnel quantum transitions are studied in detail.
