Abstract
A new method of deconvolution by derivative operation has been proposed. By using B spline to smooth the data, a section of Nd3+ fluorescence spectrum near 880 nm obtained at room temperature was treated. The spectral resolution was improved greatly, and the 4I9/2 and 4F3/2 energy levels of Nd3+ in laser glass were determined by the new method. For recovery of spectra in which the intrinsic line shape is Gaussian, this method has better characteristics, such as fewer selected parameters, simpler calculation, and faster operation speed, and is superior to previous deconvolution approaches.
