Abstract
We examine the nonclassical statistical properties of the squeezed even and the squeezed odd coherent states defined by the superposed states involving two squeezed coherent states with phase difference π between their displacement parameters. We demonstrate that the fields in the squeezed even coherent state can exhibit a remarkably enhanced squeezing level and mean photon number in comparison with the input squeezed coherent state. We also give examples of physical processes that lead to such a superposition.
