Abstract
The beam-foil technique is applied to 17 transitions due to nitrogen ions in the wavelength region 1900–4900 Å Radiative lifetimes are given for the following levels: (3p 1S, 3p 1D, 4s 3P0, 4f 1,3F, 4f 3G) for N ii;(3p 4P, 3p 2D, 3d 4P0, 3d 4D0, 3d 4F0, 4p 2P0, 4f 4D, 4f 2F, 4f 2G, 6g 2G) for N iii; (3p 3P0) for N iv. These results are compared with previously published data and with values calculated from theoretical wavefunctions.
