Abstract
The reciprocity law failure of desensitized emulsions has been studied in the range of the moderate and extremely high intensity exposures. It is shown that in the desensitized emulsion some of the decreased efficiency associated with normal saturation effects is removed in the high intensity range relative to the nondesensitized basic emulsion. Two of the three dyes studies have shown two steps of low intensity reciprocity failure: a strong, primary low intensity failure and a weak, secondary failure. Speculations on the mechanisms of these two failures are given.
