Abstract

This paper describes a simple torch design for use with a microwave- induced plasma (MIP). The torch is constructed from commonly available components with an absolute minimum of machining. The basic torch may be constructed with the use of only hand tools and a drill press. The design is adaptable to a variety of configurations, including a tangential flow torch.
