Abstract
By illustrations, it is shown that correctly formed multiple-beam interference fringes have a high information content. The application of multiple-beam fringes to the study of oscillating crystals is described. In particular, it is shown that the fringe character is such as to permit much overlap of order without destroying fringe visibility.
