Abstract
This Letter determines the ions energy transfer process parameters in the () crystal and demonstrates a dipole-dipole type of the ions nonradiative energy transfer. The intracavity pumping as well as pumping through energy transfer in the , () crystal under 1735 nm excitation by an YLF:Er laser was realized in a temperature range of 78 up to 150 K for the first time, to the best of our knowledge. Output pulse energy up to 20 μJ at under 5.5 mJ of 1735 nm absorbed pump energy was obtained for the ions energy transfer mode.
