Abstract
The retracing behavior of the phase matching in optical parametric processes with angle-tuned LiB3O5 crystals has been investigated. The simultaneous generation of two pairs of parametric beams and a novel multiwavelength interaction phenomenon have been observed and analyzed. The design and performance of a picosecond multiwavelength optical parametric amplifier with three angle-tuned lithium triborate crystals is described. As much as 2.34 mJ/pulse of output, corresponding to a conversion efficiency of 26%, has been obtained.
