Abstract
Effects of temperature and pressure on the rotatory dispersion of Bi12GeO20 are investigated. The rotatory power is found to vary linearly with temperature and pressure in the range of temperature and pressure covered. Values for the single-oscillator characteristic wavelength are obtained as a function of temperature and pressure. Volume and intrinsic effects of temperature and pressure on the wavelength and oscillator strength are separated and computed.
