Abstract
Experimental evidence is given for the formation of films of abnormally high reflecting power, produced by chemical action on glasses of low refractive index. These films are produced by the attack of modified fluosilicic acid under controlled conditions. The results are shown to be due to the formation of double layer films of lower refractive index than the glass and can be accounted for by the unique chemical action.
