Abstract

The performance of asynchronous coherent time-spreading optical code-division multiple-access (OCDMA) systems is evaluated semi-analytically and the results are compared with those of spectral coding OCDMA systems using ultrashort pulses. The fundamental multi-access interference limited performances are predicted to be identical.
