The Cooled Germanium Bolometer as a Far Infrared Detector

Abstract

A direct comparison of the signal/noise ratios between a Golay detector and a cooled germanium bolometer is described. The Perkin-Elmer 301 far infrared spectrophotometer was used in the comparison. The spectral range 90 μ to 250 μ was covered.
