Abstract

We probe the mid-infrared dielectric response of optimally doped YBa₂Cu₃O_7−δ after 12-fs optical excitation to simultaneously trace quasiparticles and specific lattice modes. Our results identify an extremely non-thermal regime and highly selective electron-phonon coupling.
