Abstract

The work presents Ge-on-CaF₂ based waveguides for Mid-IR photonics. Detailed analysis of wire, ridge and slot waveguide for absorption sensing of CO₂ is presented. Slot waveguide exhibits high-sensitivity with evanescent field fraction greater than 40%.
