Best Effort Multi-Rate Optical Networks

Abstract

Load-aware signal power selection strategies are applied while planning multi-rate optical networks intended to carry best effort traffic. Network fiber spans are carefully classified as either full-load or odd-only, trading wavelengths for improved OSNR.
