Abstract
An optical main-distributing frame (MDF) is one of the key systems needed for providing fiber-to-the-home (FTTH).1 It cross connects the selected optical-subscriber cable with the desired optical-office-equipment cable, and it permits these cables to be tested.2 This paper describes a new automated optical MDF system concept and feasibility-test results of a prototype model.
