Eyebox Expansion and Vision Correction for Varifocal Near-Eye-Display Using Two Dimensional Retro-Reflection

Abstract

Varifocal optics usually sacrifice the aperture size for faster operation speed, which results in small eyebox in a NED configuration. We introduce a technique to expand the eyebox of a varifocal NED using a two-dimensional retro-reflector. Vision correction is also demonstrated in the proposed system.
