Subarray Design and Thermal Crosstalk Optimization for Power-Efficient Optical Phased Array

Abstract

We propose to address thermal crosstalk in integrated optical phased arrays by circuit design and array control. A silicon photonic chip prototype demonstrates that subarray design and thermal crosstalk optimization reduce power consumption by 38%.
