Analysis of Non-Saturable Absorption for Optimization of L-Band EDF Performance

Abstract

Non-saturable absorption is revisited to characterize L-band EDFs, co-doped with either Yttrium or Ytterbium as de-clustering agents. Measurements in the C-band allow to evaluate erbium pair content that correlates with measured and simulated amplifier performance.
