Abstract
Fabry-Perot optical microcavities built from micromachined concave mirrors offer a powerful combination of small mode cross section, high finesse, and open access [1]. This has proven to be beneficial for experiments covering a broad range of topics, including cavity quantum electrodynamics with cold atoms, ions, and solid state-based emitters (see e.g. [3]), as well as cavity optomechanics, and scanning cavity microscopy [4].
