Abstract
Optical communication networks use electrical constellation converters requiring optical-electrical-optical conversions and expensive, symbol-rate limiting electronics. Consequently, methods for all-optical constellation conversions tailored to some specific modulation formats have been proposed [1-4]. However, a generic technique for constellation conversion among amplitude-phase modulation formats has yet to be developed.
