Abstract
A converter from wireless millimetre-wave (MMW) to lightwave (LW) signals is required always in Fibre-Wireless (Fi-Wi) networks [1]. The converter can be composed of MMW antennas and electro-optic (EO) modulators. Converters using planar antennas integrated with EO modulators were developed and reported [2]. They can be operated with low MMW loss and with no external power supply. However, precise tuning is required for obtaining good matching condition due to small wavelength of MMW bands.
