Abstract
Recently, nonlinear optical (NLO) polymers have attracted great attentions as NLO active materials for micro-photonics and plasmonics. The NLO polymers consist of guest and host complex structure, where the guest chromophores were responsible for the nonlinear light-matter interactions and the host polymers hold the positions of the guests. In general, the NLO polymers are not active in the second order NLO susceptibilities in as-prepared condition, because the guests are randomly oriented in the hosts. In our previous study, we managed to induce the second order nonlinearities in the NLO polymers even in the absence of applying the external fields just by annealing the materials [1]. In the present study, the orientation distribution functions and the polarity of the guests were examined so as to address the polar order of the guests in more details.
