Abstract
Ciuti and Bastard predicted that in the lower terahertz regime deep ultrastrong light-matter coupling is feasible using localised plasmons coupling to intersubband plasmons in heterostructures, where nonadiabatic cavity QED effects emerge [1]. To study strong light-matter interaction or the coupling between plasmonic resonators in time domain, it is particularly advantageous to employ a set of strongly confined plasmonic resonators with the ability to switch on and off different coupling paths between local resonators. Double-metal plasmonic structures are appropriate for this purpose because they offer high field confinement and enable extremely small mode volumes [2,3]. Guiding modes in switchable waveguides can be used to switch definite coupling paths to other meta-atoms or antennas.
