Abstract
We present a novel Fiber Optical Parametric Amplifier (FOPA) setup, that is pumped by chirped femtosecond pulses. Arbritrary signs of the signal pulse chirp can be generated by adjusting the sign of the pump-pulse chirp. We use this scheme to generate a power of 187 mW at a wavelength around 1270 nm. Pulses can be compressed in fused-silica rods down to a duration of 120 fs. Wavelength tuning is possible from 1260 nm to 1360 nm; and from 1830 nm to 2060 nm, respectively.
