High Resolution Imaging Microstructured Optical Fibres

Abstract

We show that an imaging fibre with a pixel pitch of 2 pm is theoretically achievable using silica-based microstructured fibres. Preliminary fabrication results are presented using extrusion of glass through 3D printed titanium dies.
