Transition probabilities have been computed for the Ne i transition arrays 2p53p–2p54s, 2p53p–2p5 5s, 2p54p–2p55s, and 2p53s–2p54p. Intermediate-coupling theory, including an effective correction for configuration interaction, has been used. An absolute scale is obtained by use of the Coulomb approximation. The eigenvectors obtained in this manner give a better fit to the observed energies and Lande g values than eigenvectors obtained without configuration interaction. There is also a significant improvement of agreement of the calculated transition probabilities to the few experimental values for these arrays.

The uncertainty of this value is expected to be large, because the function ϕ of Ref. 11 is very close to one of its zeros.
This is in excellent agreement with the experimental value of 0.304 given in Ref. 14.
