Three complete Rydberg series, 2p2P°–ns2S, 2s2S–np2P°, and 2p2P°–nd2D, extending to the ionization limit have been observed in the spectrum of N v excited in a low-pressure, high-voltage condensed capillary discharge. An ionization limit of 789 516±24 cm−1=97.8816±0.0030 eV has been determined from these long series for N v.
