Abstract
Some very simple configuration lenses for high-speed scanning are investigated with the standard methods of optical design. The correction for spherical aberration is achieved by combining a convergent and a divergent element in much the same way as is done in optics. The resultant lens is a doublet.
The term conflection of a ray is proposed for the change of direction which the ray shows at a sharp bend of the lens surface.
