Abstract

A transmission fiber for mode division multiplexing supporting LP<sub>01</sub> and LP<sub>11</sub> modes, with low differential group delay, low mode coupling, and low loss for both modes is presented. Spatially and spectrally resolved mode imaging (S<sup>2</sup> imaging) is used for characterization.
