Abstract

A Sagnac interferometer based on a short section of PANDA fiber for high sensitivity temperature measurement has been proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The principle of this Sagnac interferometer is theoretically analyzed by Jones Matrix. Extremely high temperature sensitivity up to -1.46 nm/°C has been achieved, together with compact size, and capability of remote temperature monitoring, makes it a good candidate for various in-field sensing applications.
