A 1 × 2 Variable Optical Power Splitter Development

Abstract

The possible applications and various designs of variable optical power splitters (OPSs) in the past years have been discussed in this paper. A new design based on polarization signal processing to realize the variable OPS is proposed. The measured result of the built prototype shows that it is a practical design.
