Abstract
A near-IR tunable external-cavity laser that uses an electro-optic deflector and a reflection grating as a tunable filter is demonstrated. The deflector is an electronically reconfigurable nonpixelated nematic liquid-crystal device. By controlling the voltage applied to the electro-optic deflector, a tuning range of and a side-mode suppression higher than are obtained.
