Abstract
A series of measurements of the solar spectrum covering the wavelength range 7–400 μ, made from an observing site in the Bolivian Andes at 5200-m altitude, is described. The experimental technique was designed to give both high resolution (0.3 cm−1) spectra for line identification purposes and absolute transmittance data for measured values of the atmospheric water content in the solar paths.
