Modulation of surface electromagnetic waves

Abstract

SEW propagation on semiconductor materials leads to the expectation that electrooptic functions could be demonstrated by devices which modify the SEW in response to an applied electric field. This Letter describes the initial analysis of a modulator as such a device.
