Abstract

High capacity and compact optical interconnecting schemes utilizing volume holograms are analyzed. Local interconnections between the same number of input and output pixels and global interconnections between different numbers of input and output pixels are considered. Sampling grids, i.e., 2-D arrangements of input and output pixels, for such interconnecting patterns are presented.
