Abstract
The spectral absorptances of some solids have been measured in the 2- to 25-μ region in the temperature range 313 to 473°K by use of a modified Beckman IR-3 spectrophotometer. The emission of each sample is compared directly to a blackbody at the same temperature. Results indicate that this technique offers a most useful tool, particularly for measuring absorption coefficients of low value.
