Abstract
A Pfund-type absorption cell that exhibits extreme stability at high temperature has been constructed for use with high-resolution Fourier spectroscopy. The cell is currently used to measure the absorption spectra of CO2 and H2O gas samples heated to 1300 K. The advantages of the Pfund cell are described with respect to that of the White cell for use in Fourier spectroscopy.
