Aerosol lenses propagation model: erratum

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

In a previous paper [Opt. Lett. 36, 3419 (2011)], credit was not given to a previous publication. The reference is given here.

In a recent publication [1] we developed a model that reproduces the propagation of photons through an aerosol cloud and used it to separate individual scattering order contribution. This model is based on the known principle that the modulation transfer function (MTF) of cascaded lenses is equivalent to the product of the lenses’ MTFs. After the publication, we found that a model for underwater propagation based on the same principle was published by Willard H. Wells in 1969 [2]. A reference to Wells’ paper should have appeared in our publication.
