Abstract

We present a time dependent model of an optical switching device consisting of two crossed Fabry-Perot resonators filled with a nonlinear medium. Results are shown for parameters appropriate for nonlinear organic media in integrated optic geometries. In the small signal limit, gain-bandwidths of hundreds of GHz are predicted. With pulsed inputs, gains of 10 and larger can be achieved without pulse breakup.
