Abstract
Scheduled for Launch in 1998 on board the EOS/AM satellite, the MOPITT (Measurements of Pollution In The Troposphere) instrument will measure global tropospheric CO and CH4 distributions. The instrument and its scientific objectives have been described by Drummond [1992] and forward model studies have been discussed by Pan et al. [1995]. This paper presents some results of linear error analysis for retrieving CO profiles and the comparisons with the results of retrieval simulations.
